Albanians are buying more and more better, newer and more expensive cars.
The last report of the General Directorate of Road Transport has highlighted that the costs to buy cars have increased.
About 44.5 billion lek is the total invested by Albanians for the road vehicles they imported and registered for the first time, in the first 7 months of 2023.
This figure is 31% more compared to 2022 and 55% more if we compare it with the eleventh period of 2018.
The data show that 42,238 vehicles were purchased and the average value per vehicle registered for the first time is 1,033,512 lek.
If we compare it with a year ago, we see that the value of a car is 11.4% higher and 36% more than in 2018.
For experts, these data show that Albanians are not only “motorizing strongly” but are also buying better, more environmentally friendly and safer vehicles. At the same time, this shows the increase in purchasing and economic power.
