A 23-year-old Albanian was killed yesterday evening in Italy. The victim is Klajd Bitri, who intervened to break up a fight involving a friend of his, but was shot dead.

According to the Italian media, the young man from Albania was shot with a fishing spear by an Algerian who was part of the physical clash between the young men.

The event happened during the afternoon hours of Sunday in the Ancona area. The Italian police say that the conflict started because the people who committed the murder complained that the car in which Bitri and his Italian friends were driving was not going fast.

Klajd Bitri lived and worked in Italy for years. The Algerian author, Melloul Fatah, was arrested a few hours after the incident by the police. After shooting the young Albanian, he drove away from the scene. At the time of the arrest, the police also confiscated the fishing spear that took the life of the young Albanian.
