Montenegrin Prime Minister in technical mandate, Dritan Abazovic, has informed the director of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (ASK), Jelena Perovic, that he will not resign from his parliamentary position until the election of the new government and that he will not receive his salary deputy until the election of the new government.
Abazovic was elected deputy from the “Bravo se broji” list, while deputies who hold other public positions have until last night to hand in their resignations and decide which post they will hold, RTCG reports.
In the letter addressed to Perovic, Abazovic writes that “with the strength of the Constitution” he is exercising the function of Prime Minister of Montenegro and coordinator of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, since his mandate as Prime Minister has ended on August 19, 2022.
“I am obliged to perform the aforementioned functions until the formation of the new Government in accordance with the Constitution and the law. Also, I inform you that until the formation of the Government of the new meeting, I will completely refrain from performing the parliamentary function and will not receive the parliamentary salary, especially due to the fact that “The Government whose mandate has ended, as is the government that I lead, continues to work with the strength of the Constitution until the formation of the new government”, Abazovic stressed.
