The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, met the Special Representative of the European Union for the Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue and other regional issues of the Western Balkans, Miroslav Lajçak.
The two officials discussed the dialogue process and the importance of full implementation of the Basic Agreement and its Annex without conditions.
Prime Minister said in the light of the speech of the president of the European Council for the integration of the Western Balkans in the European Union until 2030, it is important to advance towards full normalization with mutual recognition. Regarding the situation in the four municipalities in the north of Kosovo, the Prime Minister recalled that we already have an aggravated situation which should not be escalated. Kosovo is already working on the secondary legislation for the early elections, which should lead to an open campaign, without intimidation and blackmail, followed by free and democratic elections”, Kurti’s press office informed.
With Lajçak, Kurti also discussed the possibilities for the next high-level meeting in Brussels during September.
