The European Commission has commented on the proposal of the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, who stated that the year 2030 should be set as a deadline until the candidate countries and the European Union are ready for enlargement.

In a press conference in Brussels this Tuesday, the spokeswoman for the European Commission, Dana Spinant, said that the European Commission is not focused on deadlines in the process of enlargement of the European Union.

Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted to this position of the European Commission, who through a post on Twitter states that even though the journey to the destination may be slow, the European bus is safe.

“Yeah of course, that’s why the bus can never become a plane… Anyhow trust me, at the present status of affairs standing in the EU bus even without a seat is safer then sitting in a Russian plane, because the trip may be too slow and our destination too far, but one thing is sure like death: This bus will never crash,” writes Rama.
