23-year-old Albanian Klajdi Bitri was killed in Ancona, Italy after being hit in the chest with a fishing spear by an Algerian.

The young man intervened to stop the fight between his friend and an Algerian, but was attacked by the 27-year-old foreigner who fell in handcuffs four hours after committing the murder

Lindita Elezi, regional councilor in the Marche region, said that this event has shocked citizens.

She said that the 23-year-old Albanian was a very well-integrated person in the country where he lived and had never created problems.

Elezi said that the community of the area will organize a demonstration in the city of Ancona where they will demand justice for Klajdi Bitri.

“The residents of the area have contacted me, they have asked to help Bitri’s family, even the mayor of Ancona has been willing to help. We will soon hold a demonstration to demand justice for Klajdi Bitri, so that at least the murderer is in prison for life, this is what all the residents of the province are looking for. It will be organized in the city of Ancona, with the Albanian community and the residents of the area”, said Elezi.
