The euro and other currencies are ending the week with a slow depreciation. The European currency is exchanged at 108.4 lek, where after a growing period when it peaked at 110.6 lek, in the last week, the euro has lost approximately 2.2 points in the exchange rate with the lek.
Other currencies have also followed this trend.
The US dollar is exchanged at 100.7 lek, down almost 2.6 lek compared to a week ago.
Meanwhile, the British pound ended the week at the level of 126.68 lek, 2.3 lek less compared to a week ago.
Last week, euro registered a strong increase to approximately 5.5 lek and managed to regain all the ground lost during the three months of summer.
According to agents, these exchange rate movements to a large extent partially reflect tourist traffic, but there are also other speculative or non-speculative factors related to foreign money flows that affect the daily exchange rate.
Although it is difficult to make predictions, the exchange rate of foreign currencies is not expected to have a strong growth in the coming months.
