Opposition in Serbia blocked the work of the parliament and demanded that President Aleksandar Vučić announce the date of early elections.
The plenary session in the Serbian parliament was accompanied by strong debates. Representatives of some opposition parties blocked the work by storming and raising banners in the hall.
Deputies began to block the work of the assembly, while the budget rebalancing was being discussed. After the agenda was approved, some MPs got up from their seats and with whistles and shouts started to obstruct the work of the parliament and the speech of Prime Minister Ana Brnabić.
“They don’t want pensioners to have an increase, because this increase is foreseen with this rebalancing. If they succeed with a blockade, which we should not allow, they will also prevent the mothers of children up to the age of 16 from receiving help, because all this is foreseen with this budget rebalancing” – said Ana Brnabić, Prime Minister of Serbia.
Brnabić emphasized that the louder the opposition is, the stronger the fight will be, because if the opposition wins, there will be no salaries, pensions and roads. Earlier, the Serbian opposition has warned of blocking the parliament until the Serbian president, Aleksandar Vučić, announces the date of early elections.
