Due to a lack of electricity, the flood-affected regions in Greece now face the additional problem of no access to clean drinking water.

In the city of Volos, which is home to 150,000 residents, the water supply network has suffered significant damage. Consequently, local residents have resorted to securing water supplies through alternative means, as reported by ERT news on Monday.

The fire brigade has managed to rescue nearly 4,500 people thus far, although rescue operations are still ongoing.

Unfortunately, there are still individuals reported as missing, and the death toll resulting from the floods has climbed to 15 as of Monday, according to statements from the brigade.

The full extent of the damage remains uncertain, with many areas only revealing the tops of submerged houses.

Greece experienced severe storms during the previous week, resulting in flash floods that inundated villages and towns.

The sheer volume of rainfall reached unprecedented levels, surpassing 700 millimeters in less than 24 hours.
