Lack of a morgue refrigerator as well as the expired medications found in the hospital’s pharmacies, but also in the trauma hospital service, are not the only violations found by the auditors of the High State Control.
They say in the report that during the years 2021 and 2022, 2680 patients went to private pharmacies for the purchase of orthopedic materials that were later used in surgical interventions.
Auditors have written in the report that the issuing of prescriptions mainly for synthesis materials by the operating surgeon for the patient contradicts the legislation in the field of health care and that of the hospital service since it is the mandatory insurance that finances the insurance service packages mandatory, where it includes: visits, examinations and medical treatments in public primary health care centers and public hospitals.
Even more alarming is the fact that the auditors declare that these materials, which are described in these prescriptions, were present in the central pharmacies and the central operating block.
Irregularities were also found in the registers. In the two years, not all interventions were reflected. On the part of the central operating block for 2021, 667 operations have not been documented, while for 2022 there is a lack of documentation for the placement of orthopedic materials for 811 patients.
Meanwhile, inconsistency was found between the materials placed, those requested and those downloaded in the electronic card.
