Through the “e-gjoba” (fine) system, every driver who commits a traffic violation and is punished by the police service will be notified through a message or email, having the opportunity to repay the obligation in time and benefit from a 50% reduction in the amount of the fine when paying it within 15 days.
Interior Minister Taulant Balla and the General Director of the State Police presented the system, part of the package of digital innovations.
“It will be necessary that against the citizen’s own confirmation of the email address and phone number, within 7 to 10 minutes they will receive the notification about the administrative measure. Through it, we avoid abuses, as we have many complaints from citizens who come for fines, claiming that it is not fair, that I was not on this road axis, or that parking lot”, said the director of PSH, Muhamet Rrumbullaku.
“This is the moment to appeal to every citizen that if he will be notified of receiving a traffic violation penalty, he can log in to e-Albania and the moment he commits a traffic violation, the message will come to his phone,” Minister Balla appealed.
The Director of the Traffic Police, Altin Qato, explained that this is how one of the many concerns of the citizens is solved, since with the recent changes in the Traffic Code, if the fine is paid within 15 days, the offender gets a 50% reduction in the fine.
This initiative was presented near the high school “Ismail Qemali” in the capital.
