France has condemned the attack on the Kosovo Police in the north of the country, where Sergeant Afrim Bunjaku was killed.
Through a reaction, the Foreign Ministry of France has called for the perpetrators of this attack to be brought to justice.
“France strongly condemns the unacceptable attack on the Kosovo police that took place on September 24, leaving one policeman dead and two others injured. France expresses its condolences to the families of the victims and calls for the perpetrators to be brought to justice as soon as possible”, it was emphasized in the reaction.
Furthermore, the official Paris has declared that the dialogue mediated by the European Union is the only way “for the normalization of relations between the two countries”.
“The importance of these events underscores the urgent need for Serbia and Kosovo to act responsibly to reduce tensions and re-engage in good faith in the EU-facilitated Dialogue, which is the only way to succeed in normalizing relations between the two countries and allow them to make progress towards the EU”, said in the reaction.
In the early hours of Sunday morning, the sergeant of the Kosovo Police, Afrim Bunjaku, was killed, while other policemen were also injured. The serious incident took place in the village of Banjské in Zveçan, where Serbian terrorists attacked the police patrol. Four attackers were killed while six people were arrested. The institutions of Kosovo declared that the action in search of the attackers is continuing.
