The head of the European Union Office in Kosovo, Ambassador Tomas Szunyog, visited the north of Kosovo this Tuesday.

Through a post on the “X” social network, Szunyog emphasized that both Serbia and Kosovo should contribute to reducing tensions at this critical moment.

“I underlined the role and importance that local actors have in contributing towards the lowering of tensions at this critical time,” wrote Szunyog.

He also underlines that recent developments pose a danger to all communities in Kosovo living in the North, but also the wider region.

“In a visit to northern, I heard different voices and perspectives on the current situation on the ground. The latest developments are a stark and tragic reminder of what is at stake for the people who live in northen Kosovo, for the safety of all its communities and for the wider region,” wrote Tomas Szunyog in X platform.
