German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock will travel to the Balkans on October 5 amid rising tensions between Serbia and Kosovo.

Baerbock will speak to leaders from Serbia and Kosovo and continue to urge both sides to de-escalate the conflict on the sidelines of a meeting in Albania of foreign ministers from the Western Balkans, a spokesman for the German Foreign Ministry said, writes REL.

Baerbock’s spokesman said the situation in the region was “undoubtedly worrying”. The meetings in Albania are part of the Berlin Process, which began in 2014 to promote cooperation between the six countries of the Western Balkans.
