Kosovo’s judicial authorities have reported the arrest of an individual suspected of planning a “widespread attack on several students at a school in Peja”.
According to the Special Prosecutor’s Office, the suspect, identified as B.M, had allegedly been formulating plans and making preparations for this attack over the course of several months.
“In light of these actions, the accused B.M. would potentially face charges for ‘Preparation of terrorist acts or criminal acts against the constitutional order and security of Kosovo’,” stated the Special Prosecutor’s Office in their official statement.
The Prosecutor’s Office disclosed that the competent court had granted their request, resulting in a one-month pretrial detention order for the suspect.
Under Kosovo’s Penal Code, individuals found preparing to commit a terrorist act could be subject to imprisonment, ranging from a minimum of five years to a maximum of 20 years.
