Interior Minister Taulant Balla has welcomed today’s operation of the State Police and Special Anti-Corruption Structure (SPAK) for the attack on a criminal group, where a senior police officer is also suspected.

Through a post on social networks, Minister Balla considers the self-purification of those indicted as a key process in the fight against illegality.

“The process of self-cleaning of the State Police continues intensively. The State Police in cooperation with SPAK have arrested this afternoon the Chief of Kurbin’s Police, who is suspected of cooperation with the leaders of a criminal group, against whom arrest warrants have also been issued. Strengthening the cooperation between law enforcement agencies and the common fight to clean up the hotbeds of crime in front of and within the organization of the State Police itself, will take Albania to another level of the rule of law,” Balla wrote.
