Representatives of the European Union and the USA will visit Belgrade these days to discuss the normalization of relations with Kosovo, after the attack in the north.

The representative of the European Union for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, Miroslav Lajçak, the US envoy, Gabriel Escobar, the representatives of France, Germany and the prime minister of Italy, will visit Belgrade these days.

It is expected that the topics of the meeting in Belgrade will be the harmonization of Serbia with the EU’s foreign policy and the imposition of sanctions against Russia due to the invasion of Ukraine. An equally important issue is the implementation of the normalization agreement between Kosovo and Serbia.

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, has said that all five emissaries will be in Belgrade on October 21. The Serbian head of state said that he does not know the content of the message that will come from the US and EU envoys.

Vučić has admitted that he expects additional pressure on Serbia after the September 24 attack in Banjska, Zvečani, where the Kosovo policeman, Afrim Bunjaku, was killed.

Meanwhile, in the countries of the European Union, there have been increased rumors of sanctions against Serbia due to the armed attack in which a Kosovo Police officer lost his life.
