This year, the National Food Authority (AKU)  has carried out about 20,000 inspections in businesses that sell food products. Controls were carried out especially on those operators who have a higher risk than others.

In total, it was seen that, in contrast to last year, there was greater care to keep food safe, but there were also cases when the standard was not guaranteed. As a result, in the first 7 months of the year, AKU imposed fines amounting to 70 million ALL.

In all official controls, what is noticed this year in contrast to last year is a decrease in administrative measures such as fines and an increase in warnings given during these official controls.

As for the products, it was found that those with meat had the highest risk and some of the supplements were blocked and withdrawn from the market.

AKU has 21,000 registered food business operators, which it controls with risk profiling.
