Russian President, Vladimir Putin, gave a press conference after the meeting with his Serbian counterpart, Aleksandar Vučić.

He said that he had a short meeting with President Vučić and said that he was concerned about the situation in the region, a concern that, as Putin said, they also have.

Putin also spoke about the meeting with the Hungarian Prime Minister, Viktor Orban.

“When he asked me about the possibility of a peaceful solution, I said what I have said many times before, that if the Ukrainian side really wants to negotiate, it should not make theatrical gestures, but start by canceling the presidential executive order that stops the talks with Russia.

They are said to be ready for negotiations now. Some senior foreign policy officials, who only recently spoke of inflicting strategic defeat on Russia on the battlefield, have changed their minds and say such issues should be resolved through peaceful negotiations. It is a sensible change, a change in the right direction, which Mr. Borrell is also talking about. I can praise him for that, but it is not enough. “Practical steps must be taken if there is a real desire to hold negotiations,” Putin said.

“As for Prime Minister Orban, he is often accused of pro-Russian sentiments, which is nonsense. He has no pro-Russian sentiments and is not a pro-Russian politician. He is a pro-Hungarian politician. He is mostly criticized not for the attitude that differs from the attitudes of other European leaders, but for the courage to defend the interests of his people. Many political leaders in modern Europe lack the courage to do this, they do not have this kind of courage. They envy him, that’s why they are criticizing him,” added the Russian president while commenting on Prime Minister Orban.
