Since October 18, the application of the flu vaccine has started in Saranda.

According to epidemiologist Milto Çondi, the population should not hesitate to apply the vaccine, as it is the only way to protection against influenza infections.

“Since October 18, when the vaccination started, people have come to health centers and started applying the vaccine. Vaccines are the ideal tool to defeat many infections. The moment people hear the word vaccine, they should not hesitate to get it. This for the reason that they are for the prevention of diseases or at least for the prevention of complications of diseases,” said the doctor.

During the first week of vaccine application in all Health Centers of Saranda, there are an average of 230 vaccinations per day. It is mainly those over 60 who tend to benefit from vaccination.

“The ages that are recommended to get the flu vaccine are those over 60 years old. And all age categories that have health problems, that is, everyone with chronic diseases. With this high interest from the population, we will ask for another amount of the vaccine,” said Çondi.

Although the flu situation in our country still does not seem worrying, the number of daily visits to the Saranda Polyclinic has started to increase.
