Prominent Syrian-Austrian writer Luna Al-Mousli recently embarked on a tour of various cities in Albania, including Vlora, Kamza, Shkodra, and Tirana, during which she introduced her book, “When grandma, God and Britney met in the living room”. The book has been translated into Albanian for local readers.
These meetings were organized as part of the Austrian Cultural Week, providing a platform for engaging discussions about the book. This marks Luna Al-Mousli’s second visit to Albania.
In her work, the Syrian-Austrian author intimately delves into her childhood and youth, navigating the complex cultural crossroads between the East and West, Damascus and Vienna, and the convergence of diverse cultures and religions.
Luna Al-Mousli shares personal recollections of her life within a sprawling and bustling family, encompassing six aunts, a multitude of cousins, and vivid accounts of her journeys to Mecca. Her narrative encapsulates the essence of her 14 years living in Damascus.
Following the Austrian Cultural Week, the Hungarian Cultural Week events are scheduled to take place from November 2-6.
