Izet Mejhiti, Bilall Kasami and Afrim Gashi formalized the opposition front under the name European League for Change. The opposition coalition consisting of three political parties: Alternativa, the Besa Movement and the Democratic Movement in the next elections will go with joint lists and will have a joint candidate for president.

The head of the Besa movement, Bilall Kasami, said through a status that the name of this coalition was decided because “League”, also represents the evidence of the power of the union to achieve our common goals in the interest of the people.

Meanwhile, the three leaders invited other parties, Non-Governmental Organizations and individuals who want to bring change to join their front.

Under a constructive atmosphere and with a promising will, as well as with the decision and authorization of our parties, we declare that as of today, November 5, 2023, we, the three political parties: Alternativa, the Besa Movement and the Democratic Movement, have formed the coalition for cooperation, which will be called EUROPEAN LEAGUE FOR CHANGE.

This name is not only symbolic, because it associates many Albanians in the League in the past and proves the historical cooperation of Albanians, but LEAGUE also represents the evidence of the power of union to achieve our common goals in the interest of the people. This name is not only descriptive, but also reflects our vision, mission and clear objectives on the EUROPEAN road. And, above all, this name is not only hopeful, but embodies the readiness, courage and strong persistence for positive CHANGE of the country in every direction.

Our coalition is determined to anticipate the needs of our citizens, challenge the shortcomings of our system and end decades of mismanagement by incumbents synonymous with misguided policies, entrenched corruption and the degradation of the state system as a whole.

Therefore, the European League for Change, from here, invites all individual and political entities, which share the same values ​​and aspirations, to join this winning caravan, so that we can bring the change that the citizens deserve and thus enable a future where citizens will breathe happily in their country.
