American envoy for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, says that the agreements reached by Kosovo and Serbia are a legal obligation for both parties if they sign or not, does not affect the obligation they have for the implementation.
In an interview with Voice of America, Escobar said that the two leaders have made this commitment before the European Union and the United States and that they have specific obligations to undertake on the road to normalization. Kosovo is required to form the Association and Serbia to recognize Kosovo’s customs documents, license plates and identity cards.
The American official has said that the United States fully supports the dialogue and that what remains is only related to the time and how both parties will implement their obligations.
