The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, who is in Brussels, has participated in the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the EU member countries and the countries of the Western Balkans.

Minister Hasani confirmed Albania’s steadfast commitment to its European journey, as he underlined that the Albanian government is doing its best to meet the objectives set by the EU.

“Last week’s report from the EC confirms the EU’s commitment to the region. If the EU strengthens its global role in promoting the rule of law, its success in our region is crucial. The time has come for the Western Balkans to be a partner at the table, to discuss common security challenges. We need more access to the EU bodies, to face security threats”, said the Albanian chief diplomat.

On the sidelines of the meeting of EU and Western Balkans Ministers, Minister Hasani held meetings with the Foreign Minister of Spain, Jose Manuel Albares and the EU Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement, Oliver Varhelyi.
