The first Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Development and Dialogue of the Republic of Kosovo, Besnik Bislimi together with the team, had a bilateral meeting with the Special Representative of the EU, Miroslav Lajčák. There was no trilateral meeting between the parties.
In the meeting, topics related to the implementation of the Basic Agreement of February 27, the Implementing Annex of March 18 and the new plan for moving forward on October 21 were discussed, the press office informs.
This was the follow-up meeting of the process after the one on October 26 with the leaders of Germany, France, Italy and the EU, where the Republic of Kosovo emphasized its positions as well as its readiness for signing and full implementation of the agreements.
The draft proposal for the implementation of Article 7 related to Article 10 was not part of the discussions, but the position of Prime Minister Kurti presented on October 26 to the leaders was reiterated, which means that moving forward should be done in accordance with the principle that only signature means acceptance and implementation of agreements.
In the discussion on the implementation sequencing plan, our comments were presented that insist on full implementation of the Basic Agreement. Agreements that have encountered obstacles and inapplicability in the process from the Serbian side were also discussed, such as the energy agreement and the issue of forcibly disappeared persons. Kosovo agreed with the draft document on the terms of reference for the implementation of the Declaration on Missing Persons, after the acceptance by the EU of our comment.
