The Serbian President, Aleksandar Vučić, says that 2014 will be worse because of the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East. In the speech held before the Academy of Sciences, Vučić said that for Kosovo, they should buy time by waiting for things to change in the international arena.
The head of the Serbian state declared that his duty is to preserve the territorial integrity of the republic, including Kosovo.
Vučić hinted that in the current situation it is better for Serbia to buy time than to agree to give up Kosovo. According to him, at the current stage, Serbia would gain nothing.
“No one will give anything. Even if we accept the promises they make, we would get nothing in the tactical or strategic plan for our country. It is important to protect what belongs to us, to maintain peace and not to endanger the future of the country, and wait for a favorable opportunity”, stated Vučić.
“What scares me, in the age of social networks, is that contempt and hatred have become the most important things. I am afraid that the next year will become worse, that it will bring us many more conflicts and disturbances, more than the year 2023 brought us”, emphasized Vučić.
Vučić said that the Academy of Serbia is the institution that has helped Serbia through the most difficult historical moments.
