On the eve of the celebration of the Declaration of Independence, at the entrance to Viroi Park, in Gjirokastra, a mural is being prepared with the images of 17 patriotic figures, including those from Gjirokastra. The realism of this mural with a length of about 70 meters is being made possible by the young Bledar Çakalli.
“This is a challenge, but as a challenge has turned into my duty, Gjirokastra is the place of Çerçiz Topulli and something that is missing for the city of Gjirokastra. The project is that we started with Skanderbeg and Ismail Qemali, but it will be continued with other figures”, said Çakalli.
Bledari says that he feels excited while working on the mural in this atmosphere of the November Holidays.
He has created murals with patriotic symbols in other areas of the country, but he considers this one in Gjirokastra a valuable contribution to the promotion of the work of patriots in the service of the national issue.
“The feeling is more with the problems we face today and when you paint such pictures it gives you the idea that they have done more than us and we should not complain about what problems we encounter along the way. My issue and the cause is for the most reviving national figures and I have been to many places in Vlora, Dibër, Kukës, Kosovo, Sarandë”, – answered Çakalli.
Since the mural is done on the pedestrian side of Viroi Park, there are many citizens who appreciate the artistic work of its designer, while Bledari says that he will return to Gjirokastra again for the realization of another mural.
