The Prime Minister of Montenegro, Dritan Abazović, has received the “Golden Eagle” or ” Shqiponja e Artë” award in Tirana, in the ceremony that was organized in commemoration of Arbëreshë Day.

During his speech after receiving the award, Abazović said that this award should be a symbol of cooperation and love between Albanians around the world.

“When we decided for the first time for the joint meeting of the governments of Albania and Montenegro, our proposal was how to make an eagle, and that eagle could be golden.

The golden eagle unites the two countries and creates a bridge of cooperation. The eagle will be a temporary symbol of love and cooperation between Albanians in the EuropeanUnion. Thank you very much”, said Abazović.

Prime Minister Edi Rama also presented to the national team coach Sylvinho the “Golden Eagle” award, as according to him he is an “Albanian who is being born”.

The prime minister told Sylvinho that he is the first person to be honored with the golden eagle award without being an Albanian and jokingly told him that he has no choice but to accept Albanian nationality.

“Good evening!” said Sylvinho, while Rama said that the national team coach did this greeting the same as Arbëresh.

“First of all, I wanted to thank all the football players of the Albanian national team. Without forgetting, of course, the staff of the federation. Thank you to everyone, without you it would not have been possible to be here and receive this award, which for me is a great honor”, said Sylvinho.
