“Cold Night” was the choreographic piece that opened the Albanian Dance Competition festival at the Skampa theater in Elbasan. The festival started with the participation of three young choreographers who were represented with three solo performances. Artan Ibërshimi, creator of the choreography of this performance, said that this project conveys very important messages for the individual and society.
The “Albanian Dance Competition” aims to promote the work and artistic research of young choreographers and young performers. In this type of festival, which is in its second edition, we have made an effort to expand its geography even more, going to Kosovo, North Macedonia and Montenegro”, said Ibërshimi.
“On the first night of this festival, Sead Vuniqi, Xhesmina Zavalina and Julind Dervishi performed. In the last performance with choreography and performance by Julind Dervishi, it is emphasized that we are all creators. Love for the Earth sounds strange these days, but it inspires. It is the existence of nature, the history to which they belong, what we protect, but also where we are going,” he continued.
Julind Dervishi says he is happy to participate in this festival, while he says that the public in Elbasana welcomed him well.
“I have known Professor Tani for many years and I came with the greatest desire to participate in this festival. It’s somewhat different for me too, since I haven’t danced in a while since I’m doing choreography. The piece is called Humus and it is a small monologue from the ballet that has Humus”, said Dervishi.
“‘Humus’, among other things, shows that under the current of greed and ignorance, instead of keeping nature alive, we slowly brought about its destruction. In fact, the goal of humanity should be awareness to look to the future, and to contribute healthily in favor of nature.”
