A 43-year-old Albanian died yesterday evening in Italy.

According to sources from foreign media, he died after he could not survive the injuries he received from a car accident that happened on December 2, on the A20 highway in the Acquedolci area.

The Messina Polyclinic, where the 43-year-old underwent surgery, said he died after his leg was amputated, due to irreparable injuries to his lower limbs.

The Albanian worker, 43 years old, was a passenger in a van, which was being driven by an entrepreneur from the Nebroid area, and while they were returning home, the van collided with a pickup truck on the side of the road.

The truck, belonging to a company from Agrigento, had allegedly stopped due to a breakdown.

After the accident, the 43-year-old man was urgently transported to the Polyclinic of Messina by helicopter, where he underwent an operation that lasted through the night of Saturday and the early hours of Sunday, but he did not survive his injuries.

The causes of the accident are still unclear, while the drivers of the two vehicles involved, the van and the pick-up truck, suffered minor injuries.
