Council of Ministers approves draft law on granting amnesty

Today, at the meeting of the Council of Ministers, the draft law on the granting of amnesty was voted.

The news was announced by the Minister of Justice, Ulsi Manja, who said that the amnesty has mainly humanitarian purposes.

He said that there are about 600 convicts who will benefit from the Amnesty, mostly minors and women, if it receives approval in the Assembly.

“The meeting of the Council of Ministers just ended and the draft law on granting amnesty was voted. This draft law will be submitted to the Parliament of Albania, where the deputies will have to vote for the implementation of this amnesty.

The principles of this amnesty are known, the protection of the interests of minors, who together with convicted women are the main beneficiaries, humanity, etc. About 600 convicted persons will benefit from this amnesty, if it is approved in the Assembly”, said Manja.
