The Albanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, stated at the Congress of the Socialist Party that a secure future is already being built in Albania. She mentioned that many projects have been completed, while many others have made progress.
Balluku stated that the Socialist Party knows how to stand strong both in difficult and successful days, providing more details about infrastructure projects.
“Dear delegates and friends! It is a special emotion to be present at the Congress of the Socialist Party. We are the party that knows how to endure both in difficult and successful days. We are the party that knows how to support each other even in the most decisive moments. In 2021, once again in this hall, we all together presented the vision of the Socialist Party ‘20-‘30, which was undoubtedly not a futuristic title, nor a title to impress people’s minds, and undoubtedly, what we talk about today has become a guideline. A guideline that has already begun implementation. We do not speak with videos and 3D or with fairy tales; we speak with deeds; we speak with work that speaks much better than words.
I would start with the basic development package, with the basic pillars of development, which are infrastructure and energy, and which are in the service of the country’s economic development. We have started many projects that are now tangible, visible, and everywhere you look. Starting from important infrastructure corridors such as the Blue Corridor, where a section of the route has been raised. On the other hand, all the contracts that will follow are in advanced stages. After a lot of hard work to convince the European Commission, we have succeeded in making Corridor 8 part of the pan-European transport networks. Work on this corridor has begun.
It is being built all over Albania. A secure future is being built, not as it used to be. We are the ones who solve problems, but even when we don’t, as our leader Edi Rama says, we listen to them. Infrastructure is not only about roads; today, it is a modern infrastructure based on a clear vision that also includes the development of aviation. A civil aviation that has enabled millions of foreign visitors to arrive by air to enjoy the beauty of Albania and become fans of our country,” said Balluku.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized ports and marinas as part of the infrastructure development plan.
“In our infrastructure development plan, ports and marinas are included. Albania has been blessed by God with the most beautiful sea, with two, one with sand and one deep. We had to look at the entire strategy and have come to the conclusion that Albania deserves a new port that meets the need for economic development for the decades to come. A port that will remove the noise, dust, and traffic from Durrës, as it will turn into one of the most beautiful cities in the Mediterranean. Two ports, in Struga and Prishtina,” she added.
