The Basic Court in Pristina has ordered detention on Monday for T.D., the fourth suspect believed to be connected to the murder of Liridona Ademaj.
In a press release, the duration of this measure has not been disclosed.
Liridona was killed on November 29 in a village near Pristina.
For three men, suspected to be involved in the murder, including her husband Naim Murseli, the court had previously decided on the same detention measure.
The fourth suspect, T.D., was arrested in recent days.
According to a statement from the court, the suspect is believed that, if left free, he may influence the victims and witnesses.
He is suspected that on November 29, around 14:00, at his workplace, and with the aim of gaining financial benefit, he sold the weapon to N.M and G.P, which is suspected to have been used in the murder.
The murder of Liridona has been strongly condemned by authorities in Kosovo, and calls for justice have been made.
Increased anger has been caused by the fact that the murder is suspected to have been committed in the presence of Liridona’s two children.
Her body was exhumed a few days after the burial to be reburied in her family’s cemetery.
This year alone, four women have been murdered in Kosovo.
In the period from January to November, around 2,000 cases of domestic violence have been reported in the country.
According to the Minister of Justice, Albulena Haxhiu, 90 percent of the victims of this violence have been women and girls.
