Balla discusses cooperation in fight against organized crime with Wisner

Albanian Interior Minister Taulant Balla held a meeting with the Chargé d’Affaires of the United States in Tirana, David Wisner.

The Ministry of Interior announced that during the meeting, discussions were held on strengthening the cooperation between the two parties in the fight against organized crime and narcotics.

“During the meeting, Balla and Wisner discussed the partnership and cooperation between Albania and the United States in the field of law enforcement, focusing on the fight against organized crime and illegal drug trafficking,” the Ministry of Interior stated.

Meanwhile, in a social media post, Minister Balla expressed gratitude to the United States for their cooperation in apprehending a wanted individual in Albania.

“Grateful for the excellent cooperation between the State Police, the U.S. DEA, and the Kosovo Police in the operation to arrest a highly sought-after individual by justice a few days ago,” Minister Balla wrote.

“I met with the Chargé d’Affaires of the United States, David Wisner, to discuss the partnership and cooperation between Albania and the United States in the field of law enforcement, focusing on the fight against organized crime and illegal drug trafficking. I am grateful for the excellent cooperation between the State Police and the U.S. DEA, the Kosovo Police in the operation to arrest a highly sought-after individual by justice a few days ago,” Balla stated.
