The pediatric emergency at UHCT has been facing an increased influx for several weeks as a result of seasonal viruses.

The situation has been closely watched by the Ministry of Health Albana Koçiu, who said that in order to help doctors and parents to receive a quick service, 4 pediatric emergencies have been put into operation with 24-hour service in 4 health centers.

“The number of emergencies in the emergency department has reached up to 300 within 24 hours, but the emergency chief refers that not all cases are emergencies”, said Koçiu.

“On the other hand, the director of the university hospital center, Albana Fico, added that to cope with the influx, doctors are also being added,” said Albert Lama, head of the Pediatric Emergency.

“The University Hospital “Mother Tereza” is also drawing up a plan of measures with increased staff to cope with the influx on holidays for all the services it covers,” said Albana Fico, director at UHCT.
