Prime Minister Edi Rama has proposed Adea Pirdeni as Minister of State for Public Administration and Anticorruption.

The proposal for the creation of a new ministry was made known by the head of the government himself in a post on Twitter where he states that “at the stage when Albania is working on the chapters of negotiations for membership with the European Union, it is appropriate that the government’s anti-corruption policies harmonize better between executive institutions”.

“In this new phase of the country’s development and in the conditions when Albania is working on the chapters of negotiations for membership with the European Union, after having just successfully taken their first step, a new approach to public administration is required, to increase along with competitive salaries and the quality of our human resources , addressing all the links of its operation process, from recruitment to promotion of employees; reviewing with a more demanding eye and with more consolidated expertise the organization of institutions, their structures and functions, work processes and interaction between them; creating better conditions and sustainable mechanisms for the motivation and training of our Civil Service corps and so on… It is also advisable for the anti-corruption policies of the government to be better harmonized between the institutions of the executive, with the demands of the challenging process of negotiations with the EU for all the country’s institutions, as well as with the civil society and entrepreneurship itself.

In order to promote this new approach and address the above challenges, I will send to the President of the Republic the proposal for the approval of another new member of the government cabinet, as Minister of State for Public Administration and Anticorruption. This task will be performed by Mrs. Adea Pirdeni, who has performed the role of Deputy Minister of Justice for the last three years and has stood out with her leadership and professionalism in the role of Deputy Chief Negotiator with the European Union, as well as in the coverage of the main chapter of the Judiciary and Fundamental Rights”, writes Rama on Twitter.

Currently, Adea Pirdeni holds the post of Deputy Minister of Justice.
