Greek police have destroyed a criminal organization that systematically dealt with cocaine trafficking.
Greek media reports that 10 people, 5 Greeks and 5 Albanians, have been arrested, while 9 others have been identified as their accomplices.
Among those arrested is a veteran policeman, who was arrested in 2020 for robbery.
In order to dismantle the criminal group, the last two-day organized police operation, planned by the Narcotics Prosecutor’s Office at the Security Directorate of Corfu, took place.
The leading persons are suspected to be a 38-year-old Albanian and a 45-year-old woman, against whom a criminal complaint has been filed for the creation and management of a criminal organization for the purpose of cocaine trafficking.
The 38-year-old “leader” was responsible for finding quantities of cocaine, organizing and delegating actions to other members, giving them instructions on drug trafficking.
As part of the investigations carried out by the police, a pistol, the amount of 5600 euros, a quantity of cocaine, 2 cars and 8 mobile phones were found and seized.
The total amount of cocaine traffic, from the criminal activity of the group during the period under review, is estimated to exceed 1.5 kilograms, of which 950 grams were seized, while the total financial benefit is calculated at 95 thousand euros.
The arrested were sent to the Criminal Prosecution of Corfu.
