The Central Election Commission (CEC) granted the deputy mandate to Plarent Ndreca, who replaces Arben Ahmetaj in the Albanian Parliament.
Ndreca was cleared in the de-dramatization form submitted to the CEC, and after confirmation by the CEC, he must be sworn in at a plenary session.
“It is not verified that there are conditions for his non-election as a deputy in the Parliament. Thus, the mandate is granted to Plarent Ndreca,” said the head of the CEC, Ilirjan Celibashi.
Ndreca took the mandate after its refusal by Dallëndyshe Bici, currently the director of the State Cadaster Agency, who was listed after Ahmetaj in the Socialist Party’s multi-name list, Tirana Region.
Arben Ahmetaj’s mandate has expired prematurely because he has not been present in the Parliament for the last 6 months. He faces criminal charges from the Special Anticorruption Structure (SPAK) for passive corruption, money laundering, false declaration, and concealment of wealth.
