Census data will be published in June of this year, stated the director of the Institute of Statistics (INSTAT), Elsa Dhuli, in a media statement.
“The Census data will be ready for publication in June 2024. The data will contain detailed information on demographics, the economy, education, health, providing necessary statistics for user groups.
The Census results will provide a strong foundation for public policy planning and will assist in the development of programs to improve citizens’ lives. They will also contribute to the improvement of infrastructure and help monitor the country’s progress in achieving sustainable development goals”.
Citizens who have refused to complete the questionnaire have received fines, Dhuli stated, but did not specify the exact number of refusals.
“For an exact number, I cannot say; we have had cases of refusals at minimal levels. Compared to previous years, they are small, as there has been a significant awareness campaign. In fact, we have had numerous cases where citizens wanted to participate. Regarding fines, we need to analyze the process, and then we can start with further processes”.
