Albania and Italy finalize agreement on mutual recognition of social security contributions

Albania and Italy will finalize on Tuesday the agreement for the reciprocal recognition of contributions to social security.

The Albanian Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, will hold an official visit to Italy on Monday, during which he will sign the agreement with his Italian counterpart, Antonio Tajani.

The agreement comes as an obligation and a right to Albanian, Italian, and Italo-Albanian citizens who have worked diligently for 30 years and have contributed to the economy and social progress of both countries.

Minister Hasani’s official agenda in Italy begins with a meeting on Monday at 11:00 with the President of the Committee on European Union Policies, Giulio Terzi di Sant’Agata.

At 16:30, there will be a meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the “Friends of the Western Balkans” group and the Foreign Ministers of the Western Balkans, at the invitation of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy, Antonio Tajani.

While on February 6, at 10:00 am, Hasani will meet his Italian counterpart, Antonio Tajani, with whom he will sign the social security agreement. At 11:00 am, the two ministers will give a statement to the media.

At 14:30, there will be a meeting with the President of the European Affairs Committee, Alessandro Giglio Vigna.

Minister Hasani’s visit to Italy marks a deepened commitment to expanding cooperation with Italy in areas of mutual interest, in line with the Strategic Partnership Declaration.

The aim is to reaffirm Italy’s support, both bilaterally with a wide range of cooperation in areas of common interest, and multilaterally, especially in European integration, reaffirming Italy’s support for an accelerated integration process by 2030, as declared by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani.
