The traffic police of Tirana announced this Sunday that during the past week, a total of 11,000 administrative measures have been imposed for various violations.

In addition, 14 drivers were arrested for driving while intoxicated or without a driving license, while the driving licenses of 84 others were suspended.

Police’s Announcement:

During the past week, the Tirana Traffic Police Station has continued the intensive work to identify and punish violators of traffic rules who are a potential risk for involvement in road incidents, as well as for increasing road safety parameters in the capital.

• 14 people were arrested for driving while intoxicated or without a driving license, other violations as well as for active corruption.
• 11,462 administrative measures were imposed for a wide range of violations, emphasizing the importance of obeying traffic rules for a safer city.
• 84 administrative measures are foreseen for driving license suspension, with the possibility of conversion into double fines.
• 8 vehicles were blocked due to lack of documentation and unpaid obligations
