Seven Albanians have been arrested from the Italian police by order of the prosecutor’s office, which had requested the security measure of arrest and imprisonment. The operation was carried out in the early hours of Tuesday in Florence and Prato in collaboration with the Italian anti-mafia and Special Prosecutors Office in Albania.
The arrest of the Albanians came as a result of the investigations of a previous operation for international drug trafficking, carried out on February 5, where 83 security measures were executed. The police also conducted checks on 18 other suspects.
As a result of this cooperation between the Albanian and Italian police forces, 34 people were arrested, 20 of whom last June during the execution of the precautionary measures carried out by the Albanian Police, in that territory, together with officers from Borgo San Lorenzo.
Foreign media report that 39 kg of cocaine, 55 kg of hashish, 68 kg of marijuana, 34 kg of heroin, 4300 euros in cash, 5 trucks and a van were seized.
