The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, accompanied by the First Deputy Prime Minister, Besnik Bislimi and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Kreshnik Ahmeti, met the ambassadors of the QUINT countries and the Head of the European Union Office in Kosovo.
The purpose of the meeting was to inform and coordinate on the current topics of Kosovo as reported by the local media.
It is learned that Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe was discussed. Prime Minister Kurti thanked the QUINT countries for their continued support and informed them about the steps our country is taking in this process, addressing the recommendations from the Report of Eminent Jurists. The Prime Minister stated that they expect progress in the membership process, as a necessity for the further strengthening of justice and the rule of law, and the protection of human rights of all communities in Kosovo.
The Prime Minister also emphasized the need for the EU to remove the punitive measures against Kosovo as soon as possible, since the reasons for which they were imposed ceased as early as September of last year, when the government took actions to create the legal basis for enabling the process of early elections in the four municipalities in the north of Kosovo.
