The Days of Remembrance 2024 continue this time with an artistic performance at the national museum “House with Leaves”, inspired by the life and work of the resistance fighters of the dictatorship.
Juxtaposing the anthem of the dictatorship with the punishments for lack of freedom, a performance held in the “House of Leaves” brought to attention the deeds of those who stayed and were punished during communism.
The artistic performance “MU SI NE” of the drama club near the Faculty of History and Philology has brought together the stories of Musine Kokalari, Sabiha Kasimati, Genc Leka, Vilson Blloshmi, Atze Zef Pllumi, Uran Kostreci, clerics and punishments even without trial that were given in dictatorship were brought about through the interpretation of young people.
Held in the “House of Leaves” as part of the Days of Remembrance, under the direction of Erenestina Halil, life under the dictatorship was shown for 1 hour between songs in praise of the communist system and the merciless punishments it gave.
“It was an emotional journey for the young people, I believe, because together with the literary text, they also got to know a part of the history of the Albanian people, that dark part that we thought to present in this evening. The students of the drama club had the opportunity to meet living memories, two personalities with whom we worked, Lek Tasi and Alma Liço. We humble ourselves with respect for their pain, their work, their courage and their suffering”, said Professor Erenestina Halili.
“What we saw in this performance is that all forms of art are a good way to bring to attention sensitive issues before society to create critical reflection and debate in society. And this is important for the difficult past of the country, it is also important to bring the history to the youth”, said Ruth Huber, ambassador of Switzerland in Tirana.
“It was very touching, maybe some of you didn’t understand the whole concept, you have CVs and bios of the personalities whose works we took part in. The motto of this year’s “Days of Memory” is Memory, when the witnesses are no longer there and it is the young people who will be”, said Jonila Godole, director of Institute for Democracy, Media and Culture.
The show was perceived in the rooms of the National Museum of Interception.
