A demonstration was held this Saturday as a sign of solidarity for Ukraine, which today marks two years of its resistance against Russian aggression.
The Ambassador of Ukraine to our country, Volodymyr Shkurov, delivered his speech at this event, where he said that he felt grateful for the support and solidarity shown by Albania for the people of Ukraine.
“Thank you for your support and solidarity for what we are here today, to condemn Russian aggression against Ukraine. We will never forget the morning two years ago like today. These two years of aggression have shown us who our friends and enemies are.
Brave Ukrainians had faith in themselves and are still fighting today for victory over the aggressor. It pains me to say that Russia is gathering troops and large numbers of soldiers. Over 20% of Ukraine is occupied today. Now Russia has increased the number of mass attacks on Ukrainian territory with the use of various missiles and drones.
I am grateful to the Albanian government that has extended residency for Ukrainians who were forced to leave their country. I thank our allies for their valuable assistance. I want to thank the municipality of Tirana for the continuous help and a greeting to all the members of the Albanian politics and the representatives of the embassies who are present here”, said the ambassador.
