The Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, will not participate in the Summit for Ukraine in Tirana.

The news was announced by the Greek media, according to which, Mitsotakis will not participate due to the developments in the case of the elected mayor of Himara, Fredi Beleri, and the statements of Prime Minister Edi Rama about Greek support for Beleri, which the Greek media consider this statements provocative.

Giorgos Gerapetritis will not be in place of Mitsotakis in Tirana either. The Greek representation will exist at a low diplomatic level.

We remind that the next day, on February 28, the same day as the Summit for Ukraine organized by Rama, the process against Beleri will continue in the Special Anticorruption Court (GJKKO).

Prosecutor’s Office (SPAK) has proposed a sentence of 2.5 years in prison for Fredi Beleri. Meanwhile, the issue of the permission that Beleri requested to take the oath in the position he was elected is also being discussed, for which an answer is expected on March 19 from the Constitutional Court of Albania.
