Girls in Albania are increasingly choosing exact sciences as part of their university and professional education.
Based on official data, it can be observed that in recent years, even though men dominate in these fields, there is an increase in women completing bachelor’s or master’s studies in natural sciences, information and communication technologies, mathematics, engineering, production or construction.
A recent Eurostat report has highlighted that Albania is ranked fourth out of 37 European countries for the highest percentage of women attending university and mainly exact and engineering branches.
According to Eurostat, Albania ranks first, where girls account for 42 to 60% of graduates in these fields. Compared to the countries of the region, Albania is behind Macedonia and Serbia, respectively 48.4% and 44.4%.
