The U.S. Embassy in Tirana has reacted after reaching an agreement between the Socialist Party (SP) and “Reestablishment” today, which puts an end to the radical opposition action in the Parliament.

Through a post on social media, the U.S. Embassy says that functioning institutions are essential to any healthy democracy and elected members must exercise their duties and responsibilities in good faith within parliament.

“The Embassy of the United States in Tirana is encouraged by the announcement of the restoration of normal order in the parliament. Functional institutions are essential for any healthy democracy and elected members must exercise their duties and responsibilities in good faith within the parliament”, the Embassy’s announcement states.
