Restaging of “Carmina Burana” received with applause by the Albanian public

The Albanian public received with applause the performance of “Carmina Burana”, a combination of ballet and opera, staged over the weekend at the National Theatre of Opera and Ballet.

Tickets were sold at a record pace for both show dates.

“Carmina Burana”, with music by Carl Orff and choreography by Youri Vamos, brought together over 200 artists on stage.

The soloists, the Symphony Orchestra, the Ballet Company, the Choir, the White Voices Choir, and Vocal Formation of the Armed Forces presented this work at the stage of the National Theatre.

The first cast featured Adela Muçollari as the maiden, Anxhelo Muçollari as the boy, the arrogant ones were portrayed by Erald Zela and Ervis Koçeku, the hypocrite by Elton Merja, the ego by Dion Gjinika, and the woman by Jonida Qafmolla.

Equally successful was the second cast with Odeta Dishnica, Anxhelo Muçollari, Erald Zela, Ervis Koçeku, Enred Mjolli, Dion Gjinika, and others.

The soloists Rovena Xhelili, soprano, tenor Matias Xheli, and baritone Armando Likaj also performed in this work.

“Carmina Burana” was composed by the German Carl Orff in 1936. Its libretto is a collection of poems found in a manuscript from the thirteenth century, originating from the Benedictine monastery in Germany.

“Carmina Burana” begins with the scenic cantata “O Fortuna”, which is considered a classic in the history of music.
