Winter tourism in Albania/ 50% increase, Italians and Poles first on the list

The number of tourists who visited Albania during the winter has increased by 50%, compared to the previous year. Poland and Italy top the list for the high number of visitors.

Albania has become a tourist destination not only in summer but also in winter. The high number of tourists is increasing every year.

Citizens from Poland and Italy are among the faithful this winter, for the highest number of foreign visitors. The data shows that the number of Italian tourists has increased by at least 50% in January 2024 compared to January 2023, while the number of Polish tourists has increased by at least four times. The official figure of those who are classified as tourists according to the publication of the Ministry of Tourism and Environment is 469 thousand.

There has also been an increase from Kosovo Albanians, who in January 2024 entered about 216 thousand citizens with an increase of about 30% compared to the same period a year ago.

North Macedonia also had an increase of 9% compared to January 20236, as well as Montenegro with at least 32.6%.

Tourist agencies report that the summer season is expected to be good as the reservations for Albania by foreign tourists have started for several months.
